Swimmers Earn Art Awards

The Scholastic Art competition has recognized young artists nationally since 1923.

A total of 159 Gold Key and 122 Silver Key winners were selected out of 1,825 pieces submitted from 16 counties in northeastern Indiana. The Gold Key winners move on to the national judging in New York to compete against works from 79 other regions.

The local winners will be on display at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art through March 1, 2007.

Swimmers winning awards were:
Ryan Dafforn, grade 12, Homestead High School - Gold Key for photography - That Time
Heather Moore, grade 12, Homestead High School - Certificate of Merit for painting
Jacob Furnas, grade 8, Summit Middle School - Gold Key for drawing - Flames of Glory
